There are two decisions to make, and they are easy to mix up. The first is what type of bin you need: a Marrel that sits on a driveway, or a Hook Lift for high-volume site work. The second is what type of waste is going in it: light material or heavy material.
That second one matters more than most people expect, because it sets both the price and the weight limit. A light bin is cheaper and has a weight limit based on its size. A heavy bin costs more and has no weight limit at all. Same steel box, two different products, so it is worth picking the right one before you book.

Weight limits apply

Household clear-outs, furniture, light commercial waste and light green waste. Every light bin has a weight limit, and the price is lower because the load is lighter.
No weight limit
From $470 + GST
Demolition, construction and renovation waste, including bricks, tiles and concrete. No weight limit at any size, so you fill it to the top edge and stop worrying about the scales.

Light bins carry a weight limit and $400 + gst per tonne over the limit applies above it. Heavy bins have no weight limit at any size. Up to 7 days hire included.
Hook Lift bins are in a different category. They're not the bins you park on a driveway - they're large, open-top containers rolled on and off a specialised truck using a hydraulic hook-and-chain system. The truck needs decent clearance and room to manoeuvre, so we always talk through access before confirming a booking.
The advantage is pure volume. Where you might need three or four Marrel swaps to get through a big demolition or industrial strip-out, one Hook Lift bin parked on site handles the lot. Fewer truck visits, less disruption, and a significantly lower cost per cubic metre for high-volume jobs.
Hook Lift bins aren't sold online and aren't split into light and heavy. Give us a call and we'll price the job properly.

Always allow a little extra room around the bin for our truck and driver.
Keep branches, power lines, and balconies in mind when choosing a delivery spot.
Fill to the top edge of the bin - never pile waste above the top edge.
Throwing out concrete, bricks or soil? That is a heavy material bin, and it has no weight limit.
If you are between sizes, size up. It is almost always cheaper than ordering a second bin.
They're the open-top steel containers you see parked on driveways all across Sydney. A Marrel truck drops them using a hydraulic hoist arm at the rear, picks them up the same way, and they come in sizes from 2m³ right through to 10m³. For most residential jobs, small-to-medium commercial cleanouts, and construction sites that need a bin on a driveway or verge, a Marrel is your bin.
Hook Lift bins are a different setup entirely.
They're larger, container-style bins loaded onto the truck using a hydraulic hook-and-chain system. The bins are bigger, the trucks need more room to operate, and the volumes they carry are in a different league - from 15m³ up to 30m³. If you're running a demolition, stripping a large commercial building, or managing a major site where you'd otherwise be swapping out smaller bins every few days, a Hook Lift makes sense.
